I was chosen as a finalist for the Arts of Fashion student competition. The theme of the competition was 'Confusion' so my outfits were an upside-down jumpsuit and jumper with oxford shirt.
This idea was for a project in Minnesota where I designed outfits for a local band. The look was based on Civil War details with a slighty 70's punk feel.
My senior collection was based on vintage photographs of my own grandmother from the 1930's. My color palette was based on the movie 'Far From Heaven', using autumnal jewel tones.
I made the following dress that was inspired by a painting by Maxfield Parrish. The only closures are the wooden buttons on the side waist. Modeled by Emily.
I did this collection as a pitch to a national retailer. It is meant to appeal to a younger, more fashion-conscience customer, yet still be accessible to the coasts as well as middle America.
This work was done as a project to submit to a third party who was looking to relaunch the Heatherette label. It was a collaborative effort with a close friend and fellow designer, Michael. It was separated into day and evening wear.
